heh..........it's real.......just another FSB member trying to make a honeybee.

from what i have read of that thread, they are having a hard time getting it "right"

paul cochrane even dropped in to mention that maybe it's a bit more than just the parts and a schematic.

yes......maybe it IS just more than the correct parts and a schematic. there might be some SKILL involved too

That's sort of what I thought.
I hate to see it when someone's hard work in creating and fine tuning a product gets blatantly stolen and sold. If they want to try and build one for themself, fine, but just keep it.
I refuse to buy Dano pedals anymore -- not because I'm a pedal snob, but because they ripped off Paul C.'s design and began churning them out with inferior components. People like Paul & BJ need to get paid for their effort and encouraged to become more creative in what they do without having to worry about being copied out of business. IMO

i don't see it as much of a "threat" to Bjorn's sales. if anything, it has done nothing but HELP bring more awareness to his pedals by the big controversy that was created.

and then, when there was the "big unveiling" of the secret schematic.......it was a resounding FLOP. as a matter of fact, most people were sort of amazed by what Bjorn had done with the honeybee, and the Mad Professor became an ALCHEMIST.

i don't blame the guys at FSB for wondering how the honeybee worked. it's natural curiosity.

now, as far as building clones and selling them -- that's another matter entirely. but every person has to make their own choices. and most players and professionals that i know are gonna want to buy the REAL THING.

i am much more impressed with Soulsonics Folk Driver -- because he was inspired by the Honeybee and designed his OWN pedal to be as good or better than the Honeybee, and i think he succeeded in making a very fine pedal. I would also be very interested in playing Briggs pedal as well.

but at the end of the day, even though this whole controversy was quite hurtful to Bjorn personally......his skills and talent WON!

and there are still people ordering honeybees.....

right the special feel and response is in the tuning of the recipe and ingredients and thats not something that can be learned just by reading a component list and schematic .....
Kind of the differnce between knowing HOW something is built and WHY something is built - one is knowledge and the other is wisdom - and Bjorn is a wise man and its lonely at the top 8) .

i got an email from TGP's admin people, and they said since there is not logo/copyright infringement, they will allow the pedal to remain for sale there.

hopefully if someone buys it, they will not be unhappy. but if they are, they have no one to blame but themselves.

there's nothing like the REAL THING baby......... 8)

yes......it's typical.....the guys liked to figure something out, they build one, satisfy their curiosity, then sell it.

i doubt we'll see any video demos of it next to the real thing

yes, me too.....but i think anyone that bought one and didn't like it would immediately think it was due to the faulty build or other error on the part of the cloner. anyone with ANY sense would see that the "real thing" sells for a good price, and if it WERE NOT that good, they would be $150 used or less....
