I don't believe there are any need to make a Bass version? From what I've heard the SWAW sounds amazing with bass, but I have not tried it yet for my self.
.. I brought the SWAW to a session, but didn't play it, but told the bass player on the session to check it out. He used it on the track immediately. He was Jessica Simpsons MD so he's no hack.

A Bass Fuzz is very possible ....

as well as a Bass EQd Model H , Ive known a few guys that used HiWatts for Bass and while yes alot of the difference is the different cabs used - that could be compensated for ( Gee if only BJ was good at making unique tone controls  ) though I think the 3BOD does this very well -- and its the only t hing Ive found that simply sounds like your bass amp got dirtier and louder without changing the EQ (unless you want it too 8) )...

perhaps even building a DI box around a 3BOD with extra EQ 8)

WOW...sounds like some thought has been given to bass tuned pedals.....I can't wait to see and hear what the outcome may be.

Received my 3BOD today and just got done taking it for a test drive. "Dirtier and louder without changing EQ" is a good description. Or, I could get dirtier without getting louder, or I could get very dirty without getting louder or, I could get very dirty and louder (all while maintaining the bottom end). You get the picture. Seems like this pedal can cover the spectrum of OD and is just what I was looking for! :D

Yeah very true --- really you have individual control of 3 of the 4 necessities with the 3BOD Volume, Dirt, EQ add a comp and after that its just noisemakers - filters and phasers fuzz etc.....

I was a serious bass player for a few years to the point I forgot how to play regular guitar I was that far into it,,, and I still dig laying down bass tracks ..... and little known piece of BJF trivia ~~~ BJs wife Eva is a bass player too 8)

I normally don't quote myself, but, my inquiring mind wants to know......who inserted the bolded text into my post?? Is this board haunted??

Thanks for the insight on BJ's wife! So, are you telling me when BJ designs a bass pedal he better do it right, otherwise, the couch! :P

I was playing more with the 3BOD last night and I find the "Tone" control very interesting . It is not your typical tone adjustment where you are either rolling off or boosting frequencies. I'm not sure what it is doing, but I find it very useful.

oooops - that would be me --- I must have been in edit mode rather than quote mode .....

right > Bass in yer Face in this Place

I think whats so nice about the 3BOD is that its useful in its full range --- not just like many bass drives that have a sweet spot and yer done ...... the controls , at least for me, always seem to give the tweek I want them to , and thats the attention to detail and proper matching and aligning of all the controls and that shows Bjorn depth of knowledge and experience ......
I dumped my sansamps and Fultone bassdrives and a few others stopped looking for bass drives

the bass version frequency is tuned for bass, one octave lower I think. Alone and side by side the regular version on bass seems to let more effect thru, making it sound more 'wet' and quacky, especially on the high end. I used it for a while with bass and it always got the sound I needed.
But with guitar and drums mixed in, the difference is not really noticeable and I would prefer the bass version as its much tighter feel, lets more low end thru in the bass signal itself, while still being as funky as the regular version. :D

also BBBOD >SWF is a great bass fuzz combo to try.

The bass model H would be amazing. It had enough bite to be less dark than a blueberry but not get harsh. I don't know if its just my silly love of my solid state amp, but I find my blueberry to change my tone a fair bit and think that the model H is a good complement as it changes things in a different way, but still has that touch sensitivity and sounds great at low gain so there's some common ground too.

(I'd also love to hear thoughts on a bjfe bass fuzz, what the goals of the design would be and see what unique sounds would be included!)

Just thought I'd bump this informative thread and say "BJFE bass fuzz? Yes please!" I'm willing to lay down the $$$ anytime that might be in the works.

Still kicking myself for ditching the Blue Berry...

haha! Yeah it took me some time to find one, hopefully I'll never have to ditch my V-Type. First all-tube amp I'm completely in love with!
