So what can I expect? What type of amps does it get along with best?

congrats on snagging a model H!

i really liked it when i tested it through my soldano reverb o sonic amp.

to me, it was a very nice and open sounding distortion/OD pedal. has that bright "crunch" that a good hiwatt has.

i liked it quite a bit, and would not mind trying one again 8)

I love it thru greenbacks !!!

oddly enough its the only pedal that really nails the older Joe Walsh sound in my rig....

Hi,

Some parts for Model H got stuck in transit.A few more Model H went today to Custom-Shop Helsinki.
I haven't really set up production for this model and anyway got orders for it so I'll try to squeeze in some into the Bee Hive I am making at the moment. At any given point I make what models can be made to shorten backorder and maintain the flow of work.

I have one more project for MP Amplification but it will have to wait a bit.

Have fun
BJ

I thought I'd post a quick review of the H --

It's a great sounding overdrive. The EQ is fairly flat - less high mids than the Dyna Red and less mids than the Honeybee. Low end is fat but not woofy.

It's great for that nice chunky rythm hiwatt sound. In fact, I prefer my neck pickup with it - the resonance shines through quite nicely.

On my amp, I ran the tone at about 11:00, though on my band mates vox a bit higher.

The gain range isn't as useful as the Dyna Red - doesn't do the low gain thing. BUT with the gain all the way off it is a nice subtle overdrive.

With the gain maxed out you can easily play leads through it, though i wouldn't call it a high gain box. It has about as much gain as the Dyna Red.

All in all a very good pedal - I enjoyed putting it through it's paces yesterday.

If you read my FS post then you know I have sold it due to Dental issues that popped up last night (a tooth broke.)

But rest assured, it's a great pedal. I prefer the Dyna red because I like the voicing of a Marshall more than that of a Hiwatt. I prefer a little mid bite to my sound. However, the H is a much better rythm pedal and it doesn't get in the way in a mix.

EDIT: i do think this pedal goes better with an EL84 type amp than a 6L6 type. It sounds better with the amp cooking a bit, needs it a little more than the Dyna Red.
