This is worse than trying to get out of the Mafia..just when you think it's safe to go back into the water...and especially with a combo amp(with 6v6's of course), I'm sold on seeing "Mad Professor" emblazoned across the front alone...it's like BJF pedals x BJF simple sweet combo amp equals TONE squared...Dammit, I picked the wrong week to quit prescription meds!!!

I played the "prototype-head" quite a while ago.

I had showed Björn a 15W/2x6V6 head that I had built - and that Björn, much to my surprise, digged a lot  - some time earlier, and one day when I walked into theesegoto11 Björn dragged me into the testroom and said: PLAY!

He had just finished the preamp/poweramp-section for the MP combo and was testing it thru a 4x12 Mad Professor cab.

The amp was extremely powerful for having a 2x6V6 powersection, with a huge low end - OK, the 4x12 MP cab helped a bit - and sounded fantastic in every respect. (Do I have to say that it slayed my build  )
2x6V6´s does not provide a great headroom however, so dont expect it to act like a Fender Twin.

I don´t remember the details about its tone good enough in order to be able to write about them here, but I DO remember that I was dammed impressed!

Hi Everybody!

I've just tried the new Combo and I was blown away!
I tried it for 10 minutes and I realized that I need to get one...
This prototype came with a Celestion G-12h witch is not my favorite speaker because it's
sounds too mellow(and too much mid) and it sounded much better with a Eminence Red Fang when I compared.
I hope that they will change speaker when it's in production.
The Sound reminds me of a GA-40 and tweed Dlx Fender with a touch of my CS-40 :-)
It also got an useful EQ: Bass, Mid, Treble and Cut.
It's not a hi-gain amp but it can do everything from Jazz, Blues, Rock...

Looking forward to see it in production!

I would love to grab this amp. Especially if it only costs around 2k. But I am in Europe, and usually gear cost twice the price over here, so I think it will probably cost a lot more making it impossible for me to get:(

That's mostly when the products are American, this is a Swedish/Finnish amplifier, so it should more likely be the other way around.
Great to hear some more news on the amp, Danny boy!
I heard someone earlier mention the channel being quite similar to the first channel of the MP-101. What would you say about that? Not at all true?
Could someone confirm the rumors of the price - $2k seems ridiculously low to me? If it were to be somewhere along 2000€, that is more realistic, and still a very good price.

well, this amp is gonna be a whole different "deal" than the other MP amps. i am sure more will be revealed soon. but i am assured that they are really trying to hit the pricepoint of $2000 USD with the combo, and are gonna do it in a really interesting way......i guess more will be revealed at Summer NAMM 8)
