our band is doing some cover tunes lately and I found that

FRF>Rocketride Chorus>DBD= Mike Houser from Widespread Panic.

nails his sound from the Space Wrangler album. 8)

MRD works nicely too in this set up.

Hi,

Ah yes I have used all of these and here are some stacks I have used.
And this sequence is implied: guitar>effect>effect>amplifier

HBOD>BBOD ( Volume of HBOD needs to be unity not to overload BBOD)

BBOD>DRD gives a high gain sound ( drive and distortion levels give clearest results at below noon to noon)

DRD>SBEQ I have used on many Fenderamps SBEQ just removes some things I don't want to hear

HBOD>DRD is one stack I use on MP CS-40

DRD or BBOD>HBOD I have used on some amps

BBOD>LGW gives a smooth sound shall we say expensive ;)

LGW>MRD gives a tight high gain sound that plas swiftly for lack of better description ( Drive and Dist levels prefered at noon and then noise is low too comparitively to the amount of gain.

LGW>DRD gives a defined high gain sound

DRD>LGW is useful when a midhump is needed to project sound

MRD > Blackface fenders.........woohoo

I have used PGC in conjuction with all of these, while lately I have shifted to an FGC and used that in sustain mode.

Usually I'd try to get a dynamic sound even if gain levels are high- this is ofcourse mostly useful if it fits playingstyle.

Funny thing here is that using playing dynamics is something I learnt from playing in a punkband at noisy clubs and then changing distortionlevels at about the same volume just by hand is useful to project - the rest of projection is frequencycontent related.

Have fun
BJ

I'm way behind. I've tried DRD>HBOD or LGW>HBOD or BBOD>MRD.....The first 2 stacks into a SBEQ..... The Looks like I'll be busy for awhile.

..
.....anybody else experimenting with the SHOD as a stacker pedal ?....this is the ultimate stacking pedal !!!...just put it in front of any BJFE and it makes it better, way better....better than jacking the voltage up to 18v's....the LGW and the DRD are just insane thru my Marshall being pushed by the SHOD!!...what a versatile pedal !!...alone, or pushing other pedals to be better...throw in the touch dynamics of it as well.....i just love the SHOD !!...

.... Is that the Little Red Trebler? LRT? Since the HBOD can be darkish, I can see that would be a happnin' stack.

I am going into a 5e3 with Celestion blue and really like a D*A*M Red Rooster into both the HBOD and the EGDM especially for low volume practice. OF course the HBOD into the EGDM is great too. I bought a bunch of OD pedals to try and find the right one for me and that is how I found the BJFe pedals. I really liked the HBOD > Greer Ghetto Stomp. All the other OD pedals sound like pedals and seem to work at/in certain situations/volume levels. FWIW, I really didn't like the OCD v4, LP Les Luis, or the MP SHOD (I am not a blackface fan, but a SHOD > HBOD is fantastic!).

I am using the sag output of my PP2 to run my HBod at the same level as a worn battery (approx 7.5 - 8.5 volts I don't know how to actually measure, but I matched the LED light level) and it really makes the pedal sag like my cranked 5e3. The EGDM is a bit trickier and I am still getting to know it.
