So...it's been almost a year and a half since I first owned the Emerald Green. Now, I'm assuming I just wasn't in to tweaking...figuring...trying out...and working the magic behind BJF pedals. Now...I tried it tonight with my ASAT Bluesboy through my Mesa Lonestar 2x12......AND LOVED IT!
Here are a few settings I fell in love with:
vol 8:30, voice 7, drive 7:20
Vol 8, voice 5, drive 5
Vol 8, voice 1:15, drive 4:30
I found the "boost" setting with a touch more gain to sound really nice, especially since I play the mesa lonestar clean. It makes for a great little breakup.
The one thing I found different on this pedal over my Honeybee/Model H is that it didn't cleanup the same way the other two did. When I had the gain cranked, it was a really driven sound...backed down the volume, and it still kept a pretty thick level. Not a bad thing, it was just different than the others. I have the Honey Bee set up as my "take my twin reverb or lonestar to a breakup capable amp instead of all clean with dynamic playing" sort of drive, but I may actually switch out the EGDM for a little bit and see which I like better.
On a side note...I gigged last night with the HB and H, and they were BREAKTAKING! Perfect...amplike...and I even got compliments from tone heads about how good my tone was! (which I love hearing, knowing I go through 25 stompboxes)
Anyways....that is all.
