A teeny-weeny itty-bitty little gripe I've got.

Postby NewarkWilder » Tue Mar 24, 2009 5:21 pm

Is there some way we could have a running list of what is actually available for production through CS or TGT11?

I deleted my post earlier about the 2 new HBDLXs coming out because it really speaks to a larger point, and one that's been coming up on a lot of message boards lately. People are really confused about what is in production, what isn't, what kind of waitlists there are, who to talk to, etc etc etc. And god bless Harri for all the work he does but I don't think sending him an email just to check and see what you can actually get on a list for is the best way to go about things. There is a lot of confusion spilling over onto other boards and visible frustration.

Now, obviously I know BJ is working his ass off, and so is Harri, and everybody really, but imo we need a clearer flow of information. It'll help control costs and regulate things to some degree too as some people may be paying through the nose for special things they don't even know they could just get on a list for and get much cheaper. It'll also just help clear up the misinformation that continues to flow around like a bad game of telephone.

I definitely volunteer to help keep an updated post of information on whats happening in BJFE world, but it certainly doesn't have to be me. I just think somebody should do it so there is a clear yes or no answer to all the questions flowing around lately. This board comes first, obviously, but the BJFE name carries a lot of weight elsewhere too and I think we should do everything we can to keep things as simple and straightforward as possible so people know what is going on. If we, this little community, can help control the information, in theory it ought to take at least a tiny bit of pressure off of BJ, Harri and Donner as well.

Just my $.02. Thanks for reading and any comments or suggestions anyone else might have :D

Well, I don't have secret access to any information but on my own I recently I put together the following:

1. BJFE Pedal Descriptions - To help identify what is currently in production, out of production, live in the custom shop etc, etc.
2. BJFE Pedal Resellers - To help identify where you can buy BJFE pedals.

As I say, I am outside the loop but I figured the above just by reading all the stuff that is out there. Does that help?

Thanks, I was wondering if people noticed :-) I have just put this up as a global message: What Pedals are Available and Where Can I Buy Them?, which I was actually planning to do yesterday. Hopefully that will help. Unfortunately I haven't added to this the "limited" ones that can be ordered from Custom-Sounds as I have a pretty good idea what they may be but I don't know 100% for sure and I would hate to commit BJ to something he is not actually committed to...

its always been like that - actually a great step was made recently in consolidating all sales into just Custom Sounds and TGT!! and then the Custom Shop is separate and run by me on this Forum - thats all , its very simple --- and yes I get the same questions and have for years 8) and thats ok, it gives them something to talk about

....and most of that 'confusion' comes from the fact that we do research out in the open here - usually things like the Model H and CliffHangers and SYODs etc, most of you would never had heard of because they are first research projects that could still change form, this is our weird little treehouse here and it has its own charm and the messiest least organized spaces often produce the most creative output - its not ever going to be fast, cheap or easy to understand.
