Rocketride Pedal Mods by BJF?

Postby nibus » Fri Feb 27, 2009 4:40 pm

Got an email today from TheseGoTo11 about mods apparently designed by Bjorn, targeted at the Boss SD-1 and DS-1:

What are Rocketride pedals?
'These  are BJF modified commercial pedals and with a difference in sound
everybody will hear'
' The SD1 neptune has a really fat od sound and it can also function as a clean boost.
It has a switch to change the mid response in a really musical way for two different
but very musical and usable sounds.
The DS1 jupiter has it all from a light distortion that inspires to heavy distortion with
dynamics that really makes you wanting to do some heavy riffin’....
Both pedals sit really well in all our test amps including Marshall Plexi-68, VOX AC30-65 and
Fender Pro Reverb-67. ' Soundclips and website coming soon....
Do Rocketride pedals contain any magic components?
'Ah, not that we know of-it's about the sound and feel and that resides in the circuits and not in
individual components-it is possible though that magic components were contained prior to
modification'
'Actually just pondering the question if more metalfilm makes more of a metal sound, we feel the
question can be answered in a multifacetted way.........'
What can we expect from Rocketride?
' Well, we believe that sounds come from within and can make a musical sequence and answers could
be given to what a useful sound inspiring bold guitars could be'
Does that mean that Rocketride would not be making pedalsolutions for bassists or cowbellplayers?
'Ahum, that remains to be seen while there's always room for more cowbell...'
What does a bold and inspiring sound mean?
'Well that's what we are about to find out - let the headbanging commence'
What would be the backbone of the Rocketride lineup?
'Well we thought of just starting with the basics like overdrive, distortion and chorus
(coming soon)
.....Ahum we are actually trying to be sensitive musicians with or without Spandex and no we'd not
like to admit that we are that old that we really played in the 1980's...
how about there could be a musical sequence between vibrato and chorus?
Yeah right we do make sounds for the hoodlum musicians..........
and currently trying to find an echo like the the sound used on records in the 50's...right'
Do people get to be happier from using Rocketride pedals?
'That remains to be seen...'

The new mods sounds really, really good!
A huge step from the original DS-1 and SD-1.
The chorus/Vibrato is really nice as well :-)
Sounded far better than my Molloon Chorus...

Electro Harmonix Small Clone i think.
But it's a BIG difference in sound and its Re-boxed with better components so it will last...
