well, there's already a myspace site for the honeybee

this is Billy Joe Shaver. he is the REAL DEAL when it comes to country music. i love him to death. his son Eddy Shaver (RIP) was one of the most SMOKING country guitarists EVER.

and it's a love song about a honey bee 8)

Eddy passed away over a New Year's eve a few years ago. Billy Joe is still going strong.

I love the Honey Bee song!

wow...just spent a few HOURS testng this into my pratice amp, and als doing some serious critical listening playing thru my modeling setup and headphones (modeler set to clean 65 blackface fender type model)

the dynamic range of the honeybee circuit is really nice!

in some ways, i can get a REALLY good AC30 fort of vox sound, more than i could with the EGDM to my ears.

i have the internal gain trimmer set pretty far back, only up about 20% for a little extra "heat".

but i really like the low gain sounds of the HB. even through the headphones, it gave me the sound of a nice tube amp, with just enough grind and overdrive to stack REALLY well.

now i know why all of you guys out there with Honeybees are so happy 8)

with the strat, i like the nature knob set to about 9 oclock -- gives it a bit deeper tonality. there's a bit of a "barking" frequency that seems to be around 2 or 2.5k to my ears -- right in that area around vocals.

i will be going into the studio later this week to record, so i will hear it back on tape soon.

i had previously thought the HB would just be too low gain for me, and i am not a HUGE fan of the old supros, although they are fun to play through.

but i am learning that the honeybee is more than it appears. it's very interesting how that pedal's circuits really does seem to replicate the feel and sound of an amp. and it seems to do it moreso than most any other pedal i have tried.

spent more hours of playing into the honeybee today.

i have it dialed down, and it's damn near an amp simulator in a box!

DRD stacked into it sounds REALLY good, as suggested by Donner.

i am really liking it more and more, but it's a subtle pedal -- it does not hit you over the head like a DRD does.

mmmm......honeybee, honeybee......i'm buzzing round your HIVE!
