EGDM to tame a treble booster?

Hello all of you all.

I love treble boosters but I hate the volume boost they produce, so does my Memory Man. Maybe a paradox but anyway. Now I wonder if anyone of you have tried to use the EGDM as a "volume tamer" in that manner.

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forum! Could you explain more about what you mean? Not sure I've ver thought of using a pedal to tame treble (aside from a EQ).

I think you could use a pedal at the end of the gain part of your chain to restrict the amount of level going into the MM.
Whether the EGDM would be right will depend on your overall rig. The EGDM has a lot of level available so you would be setting
it right down below 9 o'clock on the level control. Also it wont be 100% clean volume reduction, there would be an EGDM flavour
to it, or will you be using it as a distortion tone as well as lowering the level?

Using a distortion pedal in this way might mean not getting the pedal into one of its sweet spots.

Thank you!
I simply mean to tame the volume boost that a treble boost usually produces. Not taming treble.

In the instructions it says EGDM generally likes to be early in the pedal chain but it also says some pedals can drive the EGDM with good results. I wonder if anyone has tried to overload the EGDM with a treble booster with good results.

I also think about the boost mode (Voice almost full CCW and Dist full CCW) explained in the instruction. Like Jagattack says it will surely color the sound anyway, but I don't think I would mind cause it's a nice flavor.

But maybe it is a waste using EGDM that way. How about the Sea Blue EQ? According to mfolet it has high headroom which sounds good.
