Sea Blue EQ Pedal of the Year!

Postby mfolet » Fri Nov 28, 2008 4:06 pm

I just got my Sea Blue EQ today along with a MP LGW and holy sh*t these pedals smoke!!!The biggest surprize was the Sea Blue EQ,this made everything sound bigger, better, bad ass and tighter. Its gonna take awhile to get this smile off my face. The Timmy immediatly came off the board. The head room on this thing is incredible.Bobby you were so right about this one.It had my Nau 1x12 combo hopping across the floor!!! The lead tone and boost with the Dyna Red or the LGW was awesome. So I'm gigging tonight with both new pedals.
SBEQ Pedal of the Year !!!
WOW.

The SBEQ surprised me too. I didn't really know if I would find an EQ all that useful, but now I can't live without it. Awesome pedal for sure!

yeah....i was sort of "forced" to sit in with a band in sarasota Fl on thursday night. all i brought with me in my gig bag was the SBEQ and a patch cable 8)

it made the difference between average tone and GOOD tone.......it wasn't great, but it sure did improve the, ahem, "rig" i was forced to play through

SBEQ is a sleeper, it really is......and it shines on acoustic/electric guitars too.

it would probably even warm up a TAYLOR, it's THAT good

I used the LGW as my OD sound (rolling off guitar vol for clean) and the Sea Blue as the solo boost.Awesome!!! LGW was set at vol 11'0clock ,drive at 3 o'clock and body at 1 o'clock going into the SBEQ vol 12 o'clock, bass at 10 o'clock and treble at 2 o'clock and stepped on that for solos.Didn't touch the Dyna or the BB Preamp at all.It was going into a 50 watt 1x12 Nau Engineering Openback Combo (two 6L6's) into the first channel set to clean vol at 10 o'clock. Its a Boogie/Fender Hybrid Amp.I used the vol on the guitar and SBEQ for solos and that covered all the sounds and textures I needed for the whole night.Everything was well focused (nice tight, full and fat low end)and the notes were well defined.I was blown away and I got alot of compliments on my sound.Even from the drummer. The BB and the Timmy (which I was using in the same context for the last year and half) now seem lifeless and flat.It is strange because the combo sounded killer till it was compared to the LGW and SBEQ combo.Great job Bjorn.
This changes everything.I'm totally blown away.

Its a magic pedal for sure. Its a good thing you had it with you.......you know I should get a spare to keep in the car for cases like that.

As I said in another thread, the SBEQ is the single most versatile BJFE pedal made, definitely a desert island pedal for me!
It's capable of so much, including dirt on it's own if you crank it. It's a real swiss army knife pedal...
As far as I'm conerned, it wins pedal of the year, every year since it's inception!

yes, the SBEQ replaced the zvex SHO for me as my "always in the gigbag" pedal. i traded another BJF pedal that was probably worth more money for the SBEQ, but have never regretted it 8) 8) 8)

I love the SHO too. Wish I still had my old one! Great sparkle. It's got the special something factor for sure.

what gives the SBEQ the edge are the tone controls......and the SHO was never great with an acoustic guitar.

SBEQ is the swiss army knife! well, "sweden army knife" of tone! 8)
