Sounds like everyone is having fun so far! great to hear :D

Ive mainly been using the LAM head into 1x12 bogner oversized closedback cab with Celestion V30 , and the LAM combo I have loaded with RedFang.
The RedFang sounds about twice as loud, and really lets a lot more sound thru, especially the upper register when done side by side. The RF had overall better clean and distorted sound, not as dark as the V30. I still like the bogner, big bottom end and tight, but could crank the loud to 11.5 and more to 11.5 and was still on my feet.

Settings I like on the combo w/redfang were 1, 2, 3, (left to right, oclock)
Head setting 3, 12, 4,,,,,,V30 still not as loud as the RF even when maxed. I was amazed at the output difference.

I love being able to blend the loop mix, and set the boost as desired.
Overall very versatile for a 3 knob amp, great eq between ‘neat’ and ‘on the rocks’ that works incredibly well. Adding the second footswitch for clean boost/loop makes even more possibilities for each channel.

The LAM combo has enough juice and imo a better sound that it is replacing my 20watt 1x2combo which has been my little work horse amp for years.

I haven’t tried much distortion or fuzz with them yet,,but have been using a lot of pedals in the loop such as delay, phaser and other modulating effects with excellent results.
Well needless to say but Im very pleased with design and sound of the LAM amps and the Great service of Alex and Bjorn,,, Thank you for the very fun amps gentlemen.

Hi guys,

I brought a L&M head with me to Eminence booth at NAMM (yes, it was this NAMMs best kept secret  ) and thus had opportunity to try it with a huge number of speakers. A number of guitarists played the amp so here is a sort of cumulative biased opinion in descending order of preference:

12" speakers

Red Fang (damn loud, we designed the L&M for this particular speaker)
Tonespotter - well balanced, smooth, carlos late 80s kind of tone
Texas Heat - instant ZZ Top

10" speakers

Red Fang (the 10"RF doesn't have a dip in response at 1.5kHz, thus has more "in your face" presence in high mids/low highs and it's loud too)

Ramrod - Can't really describe its sound, I just liked it.

Hi,

I really wanted a FUZZ switch on this amp and so that it could be controlled via the volumecontrol on the guitar.

There is a channel switching option while this I felt would be mostly useful when the amplifier is running wide open.
Yes I know can we have some clean sounds too?

Ahum, with really clean, ahum, I'd think there would be shimmer and that's distortion too so really clean would be best played through the HiFi ;) That would be plenty clean but a percussive instrument like a guitar has a very wide dynamic range something like 80dB and to get a seemingly clean enough to compete with drums a little more power than 3W's would be called for actually I'd chose gladly 100W's though about 40W's would suffice for most gigs these days.

Anyway what I am saying here is that for the most part and if you are not running the amp wide open a more useful range can be had by dialing the volumecontrol than switching to normal operation.

I'll tell two stories:
Once I was the guitartech for a band and they had two guitarists with the same make and model of amps and one of the guys played mostly clean as best he could because the output power of 50W's of the leadguitarist overshadowed and the guitarist that was supposed to have a clean sound suddenly had distortion hehehe.

At another occation with the same band and I was their guitartech I was sitting in the backroom tuning guitars on a little Arbiteramp.Ah, with just a little volume drawn it filled the room but it would not give up distortion unless cranked as so many other amps.........

Ah it would have been so much more fun to play a little fuzzguitar while getting the strings in tune and stable.

I thought I'd add this here since this is a question asked a couple of times how to get a nice transition from clean to dirty and dialing the volumecontrol is the most effective as I have found.

Have fun
BJ

Here's another "report" from a L&M owner I received per email today.
Translated from Swedish and posted here with authors permission.

"Alex,

It could be becoming if I succeeded to find something really not to my liking during the two months since I received my amp. But, alas, absence of shortcomings was just too obvious. The fact is I haven't turned my other amp on even once since I got this little green thing. They're two different amps but complement each other very well.

I played the L&M a whole lot and it works very well with both a Telecaster and LesPaul. One thing that I , and my neighbors, appreciate very much is that it sounds fantastic at low volume. It is the first amp I own that does this and doesn't need any help from pedals either. Dynamics is another thing I like, you can control the sound very efficiently just by varying pick attack and playing style. Together with guitar volume control you get all you need or at least I am getting all I need. Recording it is easy thanks to it being quiet when you're not playing.

So, to not come across totally without any criticism I need to say that difference in volume between clean and fuzz modes is a somewhat too big for my taste. On the other hand I have not really used the clean mode, I just turn down guitar volume instead....

So all in all: I'm more than satisfied! Thanks!

Regards
Andreas B."

in reference to the last few lines in the above review--

Im also finding that after some good time with it, Im hitting both switches to go from clean to distortion.

clean I use with the boost, distorted Im using without. otherwise the volume difference is a bit of a stretch. this way it works out fine,,I just have to be sure to hit both stomps at the same time.

anyone using this configuration? or maybe its just me. :)

Hi guys and dolls,

It's been very quiet on the L&M front lately....here is the Premierguitar review just released in the May issue:
L&M review

There's also a video interview with yours truly from Frankfurt Musikmesse, embedded in the review. I think my face needs a nip and tuck job so I'll be opening the order book for the next batch of amps soon.
