Cheers BJ,

Your statements about the MRD (edit - I meant MP MRD not DRD) make a lot of sense to me, it's a brilliant pedal
but I found that there wasn't quite enough treble with my LP.
With the single coils it was excellent, really great pedal.

You also have explained why I prefer the the sound of the PPF with a LP when the guitar volume is lowered slightly.

Cheers
Jag

I would also say that I like the BJF DRD better with humbuckers. But these are just preferences ... it's not like the MRD sounds bad with humbuckers or anything like that. Otherwise, I think there are merits with all combinations for greater variety and texture. You may need to change settings on given pedals to optimize, but overall I think all the models (with the exception of the MRD) seem to play nicely with either application.

This is all coming from a Les Paul guy, but I've gigged with my friend's Telecaster and my BJF's and was just as blown away with the sound, but in a different way. I love that his pedals don't impose their will over the sound, i.e., whatever guitar you're playing still sounds like THAT guitar. A lot of pedals tend to mask so many nuances that you can no longer tell what kind of guitar is being used. I love that this is never the case with BJ's stuff.

Hey Doc! I think I might be in the process of becoming a Les Paul guy too. :) I still love the bite and twang of the tele, but the Paul changes everything. :)

Yep, and I'm wanting my next guitar to be a Telecaster! Go figure....

Cool! I think if I absolutely had to have only one guitar, it would probably be a tele. I can get some of the softer strat-like tones and some of the aggression of the Les Paul, plus all the twang and funk of the tele itself. Loving the Les Paul though. Honeymoon is far from over. :)
