What pedal do you wish Bjorn would make?

Postby Eskimo_Joe » Sun Oct 19, 2008 7:12 pm

I know we had a thread like this going, but I thought it might be time for a fresh one.

With how awesome Bjorn is at dirt, especially fuzz, I would love:

-- Octave fuzz w/ foot switchable octave on/off and two controls (1) an adjustable "nature" knob to control the fuzz and (2) a "level" knob to control how much octave you get

-- Fuzz wah

What's your dream?

I would love to hear Bjorn's take on analog modulation -- a chorus type pedal, but one that had some switchable tonal variation as well as footswitchable speeds.

something that would allow one to also be a bit more unpredictable, instead of just the same sweep at the same speed during the sound.

what if a chorus pedal had some kind of randomizing factor, so that the sound continually ebbed and flowed like waves crashing in from the beach. you could control the SPEED, but the tonal changes taking place in your sound would vary instead of just a linear sweep.

also playing with the frequency spectrum that the chorus is dominant in -- would be fertile grounds for exploration.

or something NEW in modulation -- univibe, chorus, flange have been around a while.

i like lush and beautiful analog sounds.

what's next??? 8)

I second the chorus idea, sounds great!

Although I'd certainly be up for the chorus you describe, any BJ chorus with adjustable delay time (on top of the usual speed and depth) would be cool by me.

I think I said this last time there was a thread like this, but a bjorn-made flanger (w/ his knack for making pedals which are musical/usable at all settings) would be great. Something lush and vibrant and non-metalic :)

If I had one request it'd be for a truly unique fuzz that would be somewhere in between the CAF and the PPF, something that would be less straight up rock 'n roll and more intended for use with heaps of delay and reverb. something very uncompressed and spacious and above all lush and pretty. Maybe that's not what most people are after but its what my music calls for. The pedals out there that most closely achieve this already would be the muff-like Frantone Cream Puff and the more fuzz-facey Penny Pedals Fingerprint, but a BJFE answer to the call would be heavenly. If I could sit Bjorn down for a couple of hours with those 2 pedals, drenched in heavy delay and reverb, and then see what came out on the other end... well... it'd be bliss, for me at least.
My BJFE- Some special ones. Some standard ones. I love them all just the same.

skreddy's fuzzes do that. i feel the same musical "vibe" from BJF as i do from skreddy.

but i sure to like the CAF, and I can dial it in pretty tame -- BUT -- i am using low output pickups......

I really like the compressor/sustainer pedal I saw somewhere that was just made from the custom shop. The new mad professor with the toggle switch is not too useful to me live I almost always leave the compressor on so I am not going to bend over mid song for the sustainer.

I would like to get one of those PGC deluxe or whatever they are called so I guess the pedal I want already exists hehe ;)

i would go further with my chorus idea, it started to crystallize in my mind tonight: THE FRACTAL CHORUS

analog chorus generation and sound path.

BUT:

digitally controlled LFOs of various types, controlled by a small microprocessor.

the logic circuit would feed the analog modulation FRACTALS in number form -- so that instead of just random LFO rates, there would be these beautiful repeating patterns, that would morph into other beautiful patterns, and would always be fresh....

a man can dare to dream......

I would really love to see a BJFE digital delay. I know, I know, people love their analog delays. And so do I. But I have one that I love (Memory Lane).

I think something with really long repeats, crisp sound . . . something that works well for modern sounds . . . would be fun.
Much smaller collection than the days of yore . . .
