Well, I had an older EGDM years ago, it was custom made for Danny Spitz of Anthrax. He sold off a bunch of boutique pedals to a local music store, and I bought most of them. I think I paid $75 for the EGDm....I liked it, but sold it for $200 I think.....and then regretted letting go of it!

fast forward to now -- I have another old school flat green EGDM on the way, a CAF on the way, and now a DRD on the way. My credit card HURTS.......

I use a Strat with HS-3 dimarzio pickups, and play into a Soldano reverb-o-sonic 2x12 combo, which is a bit dark sounding.

Do you think that the trio of DRD/EGDM/CAF will be a good one?

I think I will LOVE the DRD......and the CAF.....EGDM remains to be seen if it works with my rig.....

HELLO to the FORUM! 8)

Cool and welcome....

remember the EGDM has an internal trimmer for rig matching , tho if your amp is darkish you should be fine..... 8)

the first one I had sounded VERY good, and VERY dynamic. I should have kept it, but at the time the EGDM didn't seem to like my amp (a customized Fender Hot Rod Deville...ugh)

The Soldano sounds incredible, but is kind of "dark" sounding.

I already know I am gonna love the DRD -- I am listening to one of your "Jackalope" videos right now :-)

And the CAF -- well, i love fuzz. And the CAF sounds really versatile and also quite extreme if you want that.

I think between the three pedals DRD/CAF/EGDM, and the two channels of clean and dirty on my amp, I should have quite a tonal palette????

Other effects in my chain are a TC Nova modulator, MXR Carbon copy delay.

Welcome! All three are great pedals. My favorite switches a lot, but the Emerald Green never dissapoints.

I am really looking forward to giving the EGDM a fair listen and trial on my board. The last one I should have KEPT. I got it for $75........didn't know anything about BJFe then, but I do now....

thanks to the internal trimmer, EGDM can be "tailored" to most amps....You should be able get enough treble!

DRD is one of my alltime favorite pedals, but mine (or are they in general??) is a little darker sounding than, say, a OCD, SD9, Purple Plexi or other "marshall-like" distortions....for instance i got a Prosonic which i love, but its kinda dark too, and the dynared is not a good match with that amp. with other amps it really shines though....
i'm curious how it works for You!

Well, I will be doing some extensive testing this weekend and next week.

My Soldano is a bit dark, but I may brighten it up a bit with some new KT66 tubes instead of the 6L6 tubes in the output section.

Every clip I have heard of the DRD just makes me very interested in trying that one. I think I can dial in something I will really like, especially with the amp set to slight breakup.

CAF I know I will like already, being a fuzz fanatic.

EGDM will likely sound great as well, if I do not "bond" with it, then I will go for a Honey Bee or possibly an LGW.

As someone who has toured a lot where the backline got supplied by various companies, it is necessary to have pedals that can get "your" sound on nearly any amp...

All three of those pedals can be setup pretty bright - so you should be able to match them with your rig well.

The Dyna Red has eaten up every amp I have thrown at it. Extremely versatile and amazing sounding distortion! Mine has plenty of treble on tap so it mates well with a Vox and even something like a DeVille.

The EGDM is a little more amp dependent, but still is quite versatile if you use the internal trimmer.

the mail can not come here fast enough!

I think the CAF may be here in the morning. I have gigs this weekend, so I will get a chance to play it live and see how it does at "real" volume.

the waiting is the hardest part 8)

You are in for a treat my friend!

I haven't had the pleasure of playing a CAF, but my DRD and EGDM aren't going anywhere!
