so with Artic Seas melting and rising and all that,,,, lets do

Poetry for Pedals


To enter: compose about 8 lines on global warming glaical melting seas rising type stuff ....

and post it here.

as usual there will be a 'winner' chosen who gets first choice and then open drawings from the other entries.

Global warming to cause an Ice Age ?
Its not written on any history page
We need to find a solution, please
As all the icebergs begin to unfreeze

Cold Artic water invades the Atlantic
Kills the Gulf Stream, starting a panic
Will Europe be the next Siberia ?
Causing a wave of mass hysteria?

Why wait until they melt
Stopping the ocean conveyor belt
Save our kids from the sadness
Let find solutions to this madness

Its sometimes hard to face the facts
We are soon to realize as the ice cracks
That as unfortunate as it may read,
Shortly we will see, Sea blue indeed.

Melting white majestic peaks,
Forever vanishing,
Makes me ponder.

Since nothing rhymes with vibe
I guess I should abort it
But I really want to win
even if I can't afford it

....oh and ice caps melting stuff into the Arctic sea and all....

Nanook, as he was called, lucid and warm,
born on the ocean, forever the seas own form
Great tales of his own among the oceans white foam,
great tells of greatness, we speak of him as our own

Nanook, bold and true, a fisherman by trade on the oceans blue
Years at sea had taken their toll, years at sea had much wind blown
Arctic chill and arctic sun, a landscape cold, a landscape warm
Rising and falling, the great blue floor
Falling and rising forever more

Nanook old and gray, many seasons had come to play
Quite and loud, young and old
Nanook understood his place in his world
Chains of life, shackles of death
No fear in his bones did Nanook have left

Nanook sinking in his mind, his world of blue growing
because of mankind.
Nanook sinking in his mind, his world of white shrinking
in the night
Nanook's arctic winds will blow
Nanook's blue world forever cold.

Are Conscience led Astray.

Mother Nature has now been put into Play.

Polar Bears are Struggling to Survive.

Everything Bush has said is one Big Lie!

Under the Aurora Borealis Lights.

Melting and Drifting,
Say Goodbye to the Beautiful Artic White.

Melting and Drifting,
The Water will soon be at your Door.

Melting and Drifting,
The Dirt beneath your feet will soon be a SubFloor.

Melting and Drifting,
It's time to take Stock and ask, what's it Worth?

Melting and Drifting,
Through the Universe, on this Planet called Earth.

White-coated wilderness,
the earth’s unmanned plains,
slowing rolling into the sea,
as nonsensical words roll off the tongues of politicians,
fighting from behind oak desks,
with mounds of paper shielding them from the sun’s glare,
desperately fighting for the right to driill:
King Polar Bear's Last Stand.
