Thanks cedjazz. So now it gets complicated. I play mostly low output single coils with both Fender BF and Marshall voiced amps together. Volume isn't an issue and usually have the amps just below break point. Would a V1 or V2 be any better for this? Cheers

Well I am not much of a Marshall amplifier buff. As a matter of fact I have never owned a marshall. This pedal, however, sounds absolutely killer through any fender style amplifier. I have a Reverevd hellhound and the music man RD amplifier. The baby blue overdrive sounds great through both of these apps. For Marshall style sounds, I would recommend the Dyna red distortion or the mighty red distortion, Both of which I own.

I usually play low output Fender's through Marshall's as well and between the BBOD and DRD, I stuck with the DRD. To me they were pretty similar but the DRD sounded better with what I was using.

Just got done with a little home jam with the BBOD playing back and forth between 9v-12v and then amp OD. Such an incredibly good sounding pedal and remarkable how much it sounds and behaves like a REALLY good tube amp. Love this pedal

That's my experience also. The BBOD behaves exactly like my amp when it hit it with a good boost pedal. Perfect combination - use the boost for when I want more volume plus more amp drive. Use the BBOD when I want the same type of drive but with constant volume level.

Or just combine it all. Klon clone > BBOD > Tym Tatanka Boost.
