Question concerning the Little Green Wonder

Hi Bjorn,
I recently purchased a LGW pedal from a forum member (thegearpage). It is the Mad Professor edition, #0056, not the hand painted version. I love the tone this pedal gives, but have noticed something odd.
Whenever I tap the foot switch, I can hear a scratching to a clicking sound through my amp. I tested my other pedals to see if this happens for all my pedals. Unfortunately, only the LGW is experiencing this problem.
I also did further testing by plugged the LGW into the amp without anything else in the loop (LGW -> amp). The pedal produces a high pitch sound that carries through the amp in the off position. The pitch increases/decreases as I turn the pots for Volume, Body, and Drive. The sound disappears once I activate the pedal. The foot switch still produce a scratching to clicking sound that also carries through the amp during this test.
Is this supposed to happen? Having never owned a BJFE pedal before, I don't really know what to expect.
Is there someone in the United States, specifically Atlanta, GA, that you would comfortably recommend to do the repair in your stead? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I really love this pedal and would like to take care of the foot switch issue before using it in a gig.
Thank you for your time,
