Baby Blue Alternative?

Postby Yr Blues » Sun Dec 02, 2007 8:19 pm

Mr. Juhls,

I've been listening to your Baby Blue clips online and fell in love with it, but since you don't make them any more, which current production pedal comes the closest?

I just ordered the Honey Bee from Custom-Sounds.

Also, what is your custom shop procedure? I would love to have a Wooden Tremolo, to replace my DeArmond 601 Tremolo Control, and a Folk Fuzz in TV Yellow.

Yes, I'm a noob to BJFE pedals.

Hi,

Hm, at present I have no alternative for Baby Blue- one reason to discontinue it was apart from parts, the fact that this model brought the most questions. It is also a model that thrives on its own.
As a funny note this is the model I hear most people have tried including almost all my fellow manufacturers.

There are however 500 units out there and there might be one or two dealers that might have a unit orso in stock.
I wouldn't know.

Have fun
BJ

The BBOD has quite a range and you might be able to get close to some of the range in some of the other pedals, its very different on its barely distorting touch senstive setting than on it full on distrtion setting ~ which part of the clips where you most interested in....?

My favorite clip is the first one on the Custom-Sounds Baby Blue page. This one: http://www.custom-sounds.com/isroot/Cus ... bodjaz.mp3 Very amp-like and it doesn't turn to mush on fast runs.

hmm you might try the DRD on low level or same with t he Little Green Wonder - but like BJ said theres no direct replacement for it right now - maybe even the EGDM in a different way...

Thank you. I never thought of the EGDM as an overdrive, but that one's peaking my interest. I'm going to wait until the Sky Blue is out before I make my decision.
