I finally scraped up the cash to pick up the MD! It was much different than I was expecting and was not sure I liked it at first, but the huge gain range and touch dynamics won me over. I also found I like to set the pedal just a bit brighter than I would normally choose then roll off the tone control on the guitar a bit (depends on the pickups and how large a cap as to how far to turn it down).

It does stack very well with everything I have tried (especially the MR in front) and works great with all my amps at all volumes. All the other D style drives I have tried needed a clean amp or they mushed out. The MD works great with my 5 Watt Swart up to my 3x10 Bandmaster.
