The process is pretty easy, I do the artwork with a paint pen then let it dry, then it goes into an acid bath of Ferric Chloride followed by a rinse with fresh water. Let sit overnight then sand off the grungie stuff and paint.

I just got the boxes from John and they are cool already --- Im half tempted to leave them as is !!!

Ill Donnerize them over the next couple weeks and we will get this rolling 8)

I intentionally made them only half cool so you could install the full cool - Donner Style!!!

Should we charge the slackers an extra $50 or just give em un-cool looking boxes?

Ha,,, well it took me a while to think of something to up the coolness ---- I liked em out of the box --- but collaboration is the word of the day on this project so a little bit of everyone goes in ----

Heres Johns cool box ...... (since this is a DIY project Ill show the progression of concept/ and even some of the tecniques used).....

yeah I think the slackers are just ' snooze you loose S.O.L.' these will be unique and cool ~~ early bird gets the worm - slacker gets the fertilizer ~~ 8)

Johns original box ( he can tell you what he wants to about what he did..)

I'm liking where this is going...........keep those creative juices flowing!!!! 8)

.... so the last few weeks surrounded by trees and ground full of swirling yellows, oranges and reds and every weekend sporting a different Folk life festival brought me to the idea of the Fall Festival Folk Fuzz Finish 8)

~~~ Autumn burst ~~~
....and off to the Auto shop for some Automotive grade Clear coats --- its more durable and this is where the colors blend fully and the depth of movement is brought out... its not the cheapest way to do it but it looks better 8) The top coating will take at least a week ~ Ill shoot some more pics when they come back before I send them back to John......
... oh bottoms will be black to accent the black shadow spots between the colors and to 'pull in' the black knobs ...... I used appliance grade paint to resist chipping and to be more velcro freindly - if your Folk Fuzz sounds as good as the ones Ive heard youll want this sucker on your boards too 8)
