Well the one I did build is still on a piece of cardboard LOL. I will take 2! :)

Right,
originally I didnt want them to look too close to an actuall BJF pedal with a Donnerbox , but it should be ok on a small basis, doesnt look like there would be 100 of them or anything

Ill come up with something when theres a head count number approximation.....

Hi,

One of the first thoughts I had of this experiment was that it really should include all parts necessary to complete a working pedal and while there certainly have been some delicate builds shown I also know that just a circuit board working may end up in a drawer and not be used. So I'd welcome this if there could be boxes and I'd hope more folk fuzzes then could be built.

Have fun
BJ

Even if there was no box I think pots, switches, and jacks would have been nice at least so people going get a working pedal running without delving into the scary world of parts ordering.

Hi,

Right, absolutely.

Indeed the world of parts ordering is scary even for the hardcore partordering dudes 8)

On topic of building with out a box: I once taught a guy to build his own distortionbox on a piece of perfboard (vektor board) and since there was no box around it was initially built into an empty plastic icecreambox with holes for pots and jacks and on/off toggle made with a pair of scissors;)

Actually the guy kept it like that for a year until he put it into a metal box.

If there's a will and and empty icecream box

have fun

My concern on offering full kits with pot's, jacks, switches, box etc is mostly of economics. As everyone has found out spending $25 on a board with parts does not make the effect. I think some good may come by offering either just the board or the full kit complete with jacks pots etc. To keep the individual costs down there would need to be pretty similar participation levels as Folk Fuzz 3.5% had.

Since the off board parts supplied will all be of high quality there would be no reason not to want them. If group participation was high enough I could follow my general formula of keeping the cost to about the same as it would be for someone to order all the stuff on their own. The only difference would be if component matching which is expensive because of time and loss of out of spec parts.

I am 100% in for finishing parts and/or Donnerboxes!

I'll take two of everything please!

Well, I have never built anything electronic in my life. I like things built by people who know what they are doing, like BJFE pedals. However, I am brave enough to try at least once. I have an original BJFE Folk Fuzz 3,5% and it is by far one of the best fuzz pedals I own. If there was a kit for stupid people like me and the kit included a great looking box, all the parts needed to built it and all the parts were of high quality then I might get off my fat chair and try making a pedal by myself for the first time in my life :-) Aaaahhhh, can I add a boster to the circuit it to make it go crazy and call it a Folk Fuzz 3,% Deluxe :-) :-) Oh, maybe that Deluxe Version should really be my second project :-)

hmmmm well having just done a large box run/buy for the Fraternities.....

this might be possible - if we could all agree on a drilling pattern ....

thing is my painted boxes are more than the other parts combined sometimes  .... so with a donnerbox and all parts needed to finish it , you are over $100 easy - still a great deal considering, but I dont know how many would commit at that price level...

I'm definitely up for a finishing kit. Although I love the Donnerbox work, I'd probably go for the plain vanilla box so I can attempt to "beautify" it with one of those processes on the sister thread. Cheers!!!
