Germainium Trannies Availible

I was able to score some NOS 2n1304's, slighty lower Hfe than the 1306 and on the recommended list from Bjorn. Matched and tested $10/pair inlcuding shipping.

If more boards are coming Ill definitely take a board and a pair of those. Id like to try a germanium version which should be closer to the original right?

Hi Jfromel,

I'll take a pair of those if you have any left - $12 including shipping to Australia?

Cheers

Hey J,

Do you still have the Germ Trannies? Have you tried them in your FOlk FUzz?

I'd like a set for my Folk Fuzz.

If you want trannies just send me a PM. Price is $10/pair shipped in the US and $12/pair everywhere else.

A note on the matching. These have been matched to compensate for leakage, so if you have an Hfe slot in your DMM and you measure them they will most likely not be matched. To match germainium trannies you need to measure the total gain then subtract the leakage for actual gain. Germainium trannies are leaky and temprature sensitive so if you want more gain out of your fuzz you can just leave it out in the Sun for a couple minutes. This makes matching even harder because when you pick up a trannie the gain increases, needless to say it's not an exact science but I tried to test each one at room temp after giving a moment to cool after touching the leads and they were all matched within 1 Hfe.

The trannies I have are between 40 and 65 Hfe, spec on the 1304's is 40Hfe and speck on the 1306's is 60 Hfe, so not bad.
