Unless someone is casting the enclosure, molding the DC jack, knobs and other plastic parts, hand braiding the wire (uni-directional of course) and essentially cranking out all the parts needed to build a pedal then nothing is Hand Made.

Some people like Oreos and some people like Hydrox. I like whatever fixes my sweet tooth craving.

Right, I was reminding myself how little actually is handmade -- we arent making our own caps or trannies --- there are hands assembling it either way ----- all that really counts is performance and reliability in the end --- the rest is just preferences

This is a gutshot out of one of my favorite pedals. Only the pots are PCB mounted, pretty amazing wiring job on the rest. I think one of the big time savers in this design is not necessarily the board mounted pots but everything is wired to the PCB and no components are wired to each other except for the battery snap.

I saw an ingenious design from a builder in Australia (or NZ) where he made a small separate daughterboard for the jacks and the footswitch. There was probably 0% money saved but it looked stout enough and much fewer flying leads always looks better.

A couple of people have started doing it. I know FoxRox has a tag board for the 3PDT in the Aqua Vibe.
