A couple build photos and a youtube video

Here is some info about my build and a video of a second one I did.

I've played this pedal for a few people and pretty much everyone I know wants one. If you keep the gain at about 2:30 or 3:00 the pedal is extremely dynamic to the point that I can play clean and dirty parts of a song with the pedal on the whole time. This video shows that quality.

I always forget which side is which when I install clipping switches but there is a tighter louder side and a squishier side and I used the tighter crisper side on the video because its more dynamic. I think its the 4001/914 side and the squishier is the fets but Im not positive.

And it sounds excellent, great playing and demo.

If I can get mine somewhere near what you've done I'll be extremely happy.
Would you say that you're quite experienced at building these pedals?

Did you use a 3 position (center off) toggle on your build or just a two position one?

Yes, the squishier side will be the transistor clipping and the more open sounding one will be the diodes. If you use a 3 position switch the third (middle) position will engage the LED clipping... or you can leave the LED's out and it will be a diode lift with no clippers in the circuit.

Pretty cool little box huh? Hopefully someone else will pick up the torch and continue offering these when jfromel is done.

I am liking both of mine a lot, I may do another run of these if there is a lot of demand, I still have about 15 kits left. If I do another run I will add room to put 1306 trannies in there, or any trannie in a can for that matter.

And that wiring job is fantastic.

I've built two of these pedals but I used to build S&H pedals and flangers so these are sort of a walk in the park compared to those. Its not a difficult build although the supplied materials aren't particularly suited to first time builders unless you have some electronics background. I had no problems with them though so if you take your time you wont have any problems.

I used a DPDT with only two positions because thats what I had around and it worked fine. I dont have much use for a diode lift feature in this pedal because I like the diode clipping setting so much. I ordered a few more boards and stuff today to build some for friends who really liked the pedal. Just gotta devote a little extra time to building this week.

Does anyone know how many of the real deal are out there? Im guessing theyre pretty different from these although I guess I could try dropping some NPN germaniums in there and see what happens. Its not a big concern for me though because these sound so good stock.

I made the kit intentionally a bit vague, this is supposed to be an educational experience with Fuzz for a happy ending. I have learned a lot for sure and collaborating with everyone has been a blast.

I think there are about 30 original Folk Fuzz 3.5% out there but this is a bit different circuit. Nick added the diode and LED clipping which was not in the original to my knowledge.

I had a brain fart for about 4 days looking at the PCBs while I was trying to figure out WTF the 'N' pad was for. It wasn't until I was wiring it up that I realized there was no board input elsewhere

Ah, but you're missing out on the LED clipping! If you like the more open sound of the diodes, imagine that times two!
